Founding Engineer
Engineering Remote / Toronto Full-time
We're looking for a Founding Engineer to help build the core platform from the ground up. You'll work across the entire stack — from AI-powered document parsing to real-time financial analytics — and have a direct hand in shaping the product, architecture, and engineering culture.
What You'll Do
- Design and build core platform features end-to-end (frontend, backend, infra)
- Architect and implement agentic AI workflows for document parsing, categorization, and financial reasoning
- Build and optimize LLM pipelines using Groq, Llama, and structured output patterns
- Own the data layer — Supabase, Plaid integrations, and real-time sync pipelines
- Ship fast, iterate based on user feedback, and make pragmatic technical decisions
- Collaborate directly with the founder on product direction and roadmap
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, ideally at a startup
- Strong experience with TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Python/FastAPI
- Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems, LLM pipelines, or AI-powered products
- Comfortable working across the full stack — you don't wait for someone else to build the API
- Startup DNA — you thrive in ambiguity, ship quickly, and take ownership
- Bonus: Experience with Plaid, fintech, or financial data systems
- Bonus: Experience with Supabase, Postgres, or similar
